International School of Broward(ISB) is a free public school serving grades 6-12 in South Florida. We are also the only public school in South Florida that can help our international middle and high school students attain an F1 Visa.
Serving students from countries all over the world, ISB is proud to help with any F1 visa needs that arise. Our dual immersion school attracts a diverse student body — eager for high-quality academics, rigorous curriculum aligned to Florida’s stringent state standards, and for our AP and Honors courses. Our community-focused school offers not only French immersion but also includes opportunities for Spanish, English and Mandarin classes too and our state-of-the-art science lab is something to see!
Coordinating with THE US Embassy
Some families arrive here in the US with work visas and with the federal certified student exchange visa program. F1 visas are only good for one year. ISB can apply for F1 status on behalf of a student in need, then coordinate all communications with the US Embassy. We charge a fee for this service and can speak more specifics with any family who needs this support. Our executive director and school leadership team are here to be of service to every ISB family and students who enter our doors.
Many high school and middle students and families find ISB through the French consulate, as they seek dual language and biliterate learning. Others find us as they seek to study abroad or to maintain their connection to the French language and culture. We serve students from around the world; last year our students hailed from countries as disparate as Guadalupe, Russia and France.
Clubs & Athletics
In addition to our robust language offerings, AP and Honors courses, and dual immersion, we engage our students with clubs and athletics. Our Pumas play soccer, basketball and flag football, travelling around the state for games with the FHSAA. Our students participate in world language competitions and thrive academically — thus our National Honor Society and National Middle School Honor Society having such large enrollee numbers each year.
Yearbook club, cheerleading, robotics, debate and chess clubs. We offer so many ways to foster leadership skills and positive social interactions each week. Our art and music programs include performances and live events. Our student government is very active including mock trials and access to street law programs.
