Sandra Nelson, Chairperson received her Master of Science degree in Human Resources Development from Florida International University in Miami, FL and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She has worked as a Human Resources professional since 1998 in various industries and is currently working for a leading Pharmaceutical company.
Pamela Levine, Secretary received her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education, with Distinction, from Nova Southeaster University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. She has taught in Early Childhood programs at Nova Southern University since 1984, and is currently enrolled in the Master of Science program. Ms. Levine is bi-lingual in French and English, and has lived in many countries around the world.
Anita Turner, Member received her Bachelor of Science in Economics, with a concentration in Finance at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. She has been an opportunity Manager for Qwest Communication Corporation since 1998 where she analyzes profitability of telecommunications deals of companies and negotiates terms of telecommunications contracts. She also worked for MFS Communications Company in Boston Massachusetts as a Business Manager.
Ellen Powers, Member received her Masters of Public Health from Tulane University in 1998 specializing in International Health and Development. She has been involved in Haiti for the past twenty years and has acquired a wide-range of management and development experience from working with/for a number of Non-Governmental Organizations in Haiti. Ms. Powers' first experience in Haiti began when she served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in 1990, however, due to political instability she was evacuated from the country. She continued working in Haiti in the community health and development sector and with a variety of NGO's including Catholic Relief Service, Save the Children, Haitian Health Foundation, United Methodist Committee on Relief, CROSS International, International Child Care, and the University of Miami School of Medicine/Project Medishare. Ms. Powers has also worked with Haitian Refugees in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba as well as with the Organization of American States (OAS) as a Human Rights Monitor.
