Dr. Hoy graduated from Nova University with a Doctorate in Education (concentration in Educational leadership and two-way immersion program) and a Master in Social Work (concentration in psychotherapy for children ages 3-18). Dr. Hoy completed an independent Study in Canada where the two-way immersion concept originated in St. Lambert, Quebec about forty five years ago. Dr. Hoy also studied French Literature at the University of Caen, France. She is the co-founder and headmaster of Lycée Franco Américain International School, a two-way (French/English) immersion program from Pre-K to 8th grade. Dr. Hoy began her career as a TRUST Specialist in the Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She provided group and individual therapy to youth and their family, and training to faculty and staff on crisis intervention and mental health issues Miami Northwestern for seven years. She also worked as a psychotherapist for Children Psychiatric Center for two years where she provided play, game, individual, family, group, and psycho-educational therapy. Dr. Hoy also taught English as a Second Language for Adults at Lindsey Hopkins and Social Science for grades 2-5 at Lycée Franco Américain International School.
Mrs. Garay has been involved in education for 14 years, in both the charter and public school sectors. During this time, she served as PTA liaison, SAC Co-Chair, Team Leader, ESOL Coordinator, Behavior Support Specialist, Curriculum Facilitator, and Administrative Designee. Mrs. Garay graduated from Florida International University in 2005 with a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and completed the LEAD (Leaders in Educational Administration) and SALT (South Area Leaders of Tomorrow) programs which prepare and qualify administrators to become Assistant Principals and Principals in South Florida. She specialized in Reading and ESE for her minor. Her immediate goals for ISB include improving teaching and learning, focusing on safety and discipline, and increasing school and team spirit.
Ms. Yvette Ellis - Guidance Counselor
Mrs. Ellis holds a Master of Science degree in Counselor Education from Florida International University and bachelor's degree in Counseling from the Northern Caribbean University in Jamaica. She is certified to teach Middle Grade Integrated Curriculum 5- 9.
Mr. Johnny L. Flemming II has been actively involved in the sporting arena for over two decades. He has coached at high levels in several sports, including football, basketball, and baseball. Mr. Flemming has been involved in education since 1998 in various roles such as Assistant Athletic Director, Tutor, Substitute, and Classroom Teacher. Mr. Flemming studied at Florida Memorial University in Miami.
Ms. Sabrina Chevallier - Pool Sub & Front Office Coordinator
Ms. Chevallier graduated from the Inter-American University in Puerto Rico with a degree in Elementary Education. She has been involved in the education field for approximately twenty years. Her hobbies include painting, drawing, and decorating. She is very excited to be joining the ISB staff this school year.
